More cases of 2019 novel coronavirus have been confirmed in the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area, according to the Iowa Department of Public Health.

On the heels of Governor Kim Reynolds’ disaster proclamation and signing of legislation for emergency appropriations related to the virus spread, six additional individuals have tested positive for COVID-19. Included in the new cases is a third person in Dallas County, and the first reported case in Adair County. The other cases were in Johnson and Black Hawk counties, bringing the current total of infected Iowans to 29. There were no age ranges released for any of the new cases revealed so far this week.

In the Governor’s disaster proclamation, she prohibited gatherings of 10 or more people in public areas, and she encourages people to continue practicing social distancing until the spread of the virus has relented.
