Last week, the Iowa High School Athletic Association released 2020 Varsity Football schedules, and for the first time, Dallas Center-Grimes Head Football Coach, Scott Heitland got to take a look at his team’s 9 week stretch.

The 2020 Mustang Football schedule features 5 home games, and just 4 road contests.  Of those four road games, just one is outside of central Iowa.  In Week 2, DC-G will make the trip to Council Bluffs Lewis Central.  Outside of that, the Mustangs will have 30 minutes or less to travel for all away games.

DC-G will welcome Pella, Ballard, Perry, Norwalk, and ADM to Grimes this fall.

This season’s schedule features regular season contests against some different teams that Mustangs didn’t see last season, such as Des Moines Hoover, Winterset, North Polk, and ADM.  The Mustangs did face Council Bluffs Lewis Central in the second round of the playoffs last year.  DC-G’s season came to an end in western Iowa, falling to the Titans 12-0.
