While school has been closed in the Perry School District, the staff has been doing a variety of online activities to keep students and families engaged in learning. Tomorrow, the elementary staff will ditch their computers and pay a visit to students by automobile.

At 2 p.m., the Perry Elementary School will host a staff parade around the City. Teachers, administrators, and other staff will travel in their vehicles on a 75-minute route through Perry, waving at children as they pass by. Principal Ned Menke says they have put together a route that would hit as many parts of town as possible. He reminds people that given the length of time the parade is expected to take, those whose houses are later in the route will need to be patient as they wait for the procession to arrive.

Additionally, motorists around Perry tomorrow should be mindful of slow-moving vehicles taking part in the parade, and are advised to keep to highways 141 and 144 to avoid the traffic. If it’s raining Friday afternoon, the event will be rescheduled to Monday, April 6th.
