A calendar may feel irrelevant during the COVID-19 public health emergency, but for Guthrie County FFA chapters this time of year is typically reserved for their greenhouse sales, which they’re seeking new ways to continue despite school buildings being closed for the rest of the school year.

The West Central Valley chapter has created a website for those wishing to purchase flowers and other greenery. The public can submit their order online and arrange a pickup time, for which appointments are available now through Saturday and April 27th-29th. The appointments are scheduled so that no more than five vehicles will be on site at one time, and patrons are asked to drive up to the greenhouse located north of the high school. Exact cash or check will be accepted at pickup, and the chapter highly encourages people to combine orders within your family or friends to keep traffic at a minimum.

The Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center chapter at this time plans to have a plant sale the week before Mother’s Day, and the Panorama chapter is currently working out the logistics of their sale as well. For more details on West Central Valley’s sale, visit here.
