With the lack of spring sports to talk about, we’re taking a trip down memory lane to see what our area schools were up to around this time in years past.

May 4th, 2017 the Panorama track and field team hosted their home invitational. On the girls side, the Panthers stole the show with 117 points while the top three rounded out with ACGC in second and Van Meter in third place. Consistency continued to be the key for Panorama scored in all 19 events. A bulk of those points came from junior Morgan Johnk who highlighted the day notching 5′-05″ for first place in the high jump and a first place finish in the 100 meter dash at 59.90 seconds. Lydia Knapp’s toss of 123′-04″ placed her first in the discuss event while the relay events proved as strong as ever with the 4 x 100, 4 x 400, 4 x 800, and 400 shuttle hurdle relays all walking away as meet champions.

On the boys side of the track Panorama took third with a point total of 72 bested only by Van Meter in second with 77 points and Earlham in first with 92 points. The Panther boys took first in two events on the evening. One belonged to Matthew Webner who delivered a first place toss in the discuss reaching 155′-00″.
