A weekly program that Greene County High School students have been doing was recently “taken over” by some staff members as a way to bring positivity during these uncertain times.

Emily Gannon is the at-risk liaison for the high school, along with special needs counselor Kyle Kinne and secretary Misty Bettey have been doing a series of “Ram News: Staff Take Over.” Gannon tells Raccoon Valley Radio the program is intended to keep students connected with district teachers and staff while they can’t be with them in the school buildings, due to the governor’s mandate of keeping them closed for the rest of the school year due to COVID-19 concerns. She describes how the program works.

“A couple of times a week we have a guest on our show. We talk about things that are currently happening and try to get a better understanding for ourselves and for people who tune in about what’s going on? Also (we are) trying to demonstrate some coping skills, and then a bigger part is that we are just having fun with it.”

Gannon says the idea was created based on the weekly student produced program “Ram News” which is a class that is taught by high school art teacher Sara Stott. Click the link below to find previous episodes on YouTube.
