A severe thunderstorm passed through the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area Thursday afternoon, briefly activating the Severe Weather Action Team.

The warning was issued at 3:34 p.m. for southwestern Dallas County, southeastern Guthrie, and parts of Adair and Madison counties. The primary threats were heavy rainfall, 60 mile-per-hour wind gusts, and radar-indicated quarter-size hail. The storm quickly dissipated, however, and the warning was canceled at 3:50 p.m. Three members of the Severe Weather Action Team, as well as meteorologists from Weatherology took part in the live coverage.

There’s still the potential for severe weather the rest of the day, and if that occurs Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you live coverage of the storm.
