2017-greene-county-fair-2

The 2019 novel coronavirus continues to loom over summer activities and events, and one major event will not happen in the usual way.

The Greene County Fair Board and Greene County ISU Extension have made several changes to how this year’s county fair will look. Due to social gathering restrictions and recommendations from the Iowa Department of Public Health, there will not be any grandstand or ground entertainment, nor any commercial, open class and other events with public gatherings. These decisions were made with the health and well-being of youth and adult volunteers, entertainment contracts, exhibitors, vendors, sponsorships and advertising in mind.

However, the Fair Board is working with Greene County Extension to celebrate the work and accomplishments of area youth and adults. They are planning on having 4-H static exhibits where each club will come into Clover Hall one at a time with their exhibits to be judged on another day without face-to-face interaction with 4-H’ers. Plans are also being developed for livestock exhibits.

Both entities appreciate the community’s understanding as they navigate these uncertain times. Click the link below for more information.
