Former GC Schools AD Todd Gordon

Yesterday we heard from Greene County Activities Director Todd Gordon with his reaction to the governing bodies of high school sports in Iowa saying schools could play baseball and softball this summer. Today, Mr. Gordon talks about the abbreviated schedules the Rams will be playing for both softball and baseball.

“We got together as a conference (Heart of Iowa) and decided we’re going to just play a conference schedule. We’re going to play each team twice for a 14 game regular season. We’ll play an average of three times a week and four times one week and then be ready for the postseason.”

Mr. Gordon addressed not having Saturday tournaments this year. “You lose some of your games because I don’t think anybody is going to have Saturday tournaments. That’s just too many teams and too many people in one area. Those aren’t really feasible. So, we decided as a conference to just play a full conference schedule and that’s what we’ll do; seven home and seven away.”

The exact Greene County softball and baseball schedule will be released next week. KGRA 98.9 FM will broadcast several Rams’ softball and baseball games with broadcast dates to be determined in the near future.
