Summer workouts and activities are key for many athletes across the state of Iowa in order to get prepared for their certain sport or sports. The state of Iowa made an announcement on Thursday that the use of weight rooms and in-person contact for off-season sports will remain on hold until July 1st. That means that for student athletes that aren’t playing a summer sport, will have to continue to workout from home and continue to meet with coaches online and over the phone.

Big news was announced this last week for ADM athletics with softball and baseball season officially a go. Social distancing will continued to be practiced, but there will be a season in those sports with the first games on June 15th.

There will be some difficult decisions that will be continued to be made, but for now July 1st is the temporary target date for coaches and student athletes to get back into the weight room to get prepared for the seasons.
