High school baseball and softball practice can begin in Iowa on June 1 and Greene County will be among the many high schools getting a late start on the season, but getting the opportunity to play instead of having their seasons cancelled, like all the spring sports. The first games for the Rams are set for June 15.

Activities Director Todd Gordon told Raccoon Valley Radio he’s happy all the softball and baseball players get to have a season, but he’s especially pleased for the seniors. “I’m happy for them. If they’ve been playing baseball and softball they get to put the uniforms on again, and to be with friends, and to compete. And, they get to make just a few more memories. You feel bad for the ones that didn’t get that last sports season in, but you’re happy for the ones that get to. I’m happy our seniors get a chance to do that.”
