A reminder that today the Jefferson Municipal Pool opens for the season, but in a much different way.

The pool will only be open for lap swim and lessons daily from 11:30am-6:30pm. Pool Manager Simeon Lang describes how they will monitor individuals who will be swimming, while adhering to the social distancing guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

“So we will have the lap lanes in place at all times and they will be limited to one person per lane. So actual lap swimming will be ten individuals. Now this will leave a little bit of space in our shallow end for our swim lessons.”

Lap swimmers will have one hour and are limited to one person per lane if someone is waiting to swim, otherwise there will not be a time limit. There are lap swim passes available, as well as a daily fee. Anyone who wishes to schedule a lesson time can do so by contacting the Greene County Community Center in Jefferson at 515-386-3412.
