perry-city-council-meeting-6-15-20

The Perry City Council convened Monday evening in regular session.

The meeting began with a public hearing on the budget amendment for fiscal year 2020, which was followed by approval of the amendment as presented. In old business, the Council approved three separate change orders for the McCreary Community Building renovation project – which resulted in a net increase of $71,776 to the total cost – as well as pay applications for the overall project and the mechanical systems, in the amounts of $240,704 and $14,284.90, respectively. That was followed by approval of a work order with City Engineers Bolton and Menk, a design grant application to the Federal Aviation Administration, and a pay request of $38,373.15 to Jensen Builders, each of which was related to projects at the Perry Municipal Airport.

The Council then set a public hearing for June 30th at 8 a.m. on an application for a Community Development Block Grant for water and sewer projects, approved two land purchase agreements for wetland and nature areas, and approved the continuation of the 28E agreement with the City of Dawson for the combined fire departments. In new business, the Council approved changes to an existing street light on Center Street, followed by a resolution to amend a plat of survey to combine parcels for the Progressive Foundry expansion. Finally, the Council set employee salaries for fiscal year 2021, and approved an application to the FAA for funding under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.
