It’s week two of the Greene County High School softball season and Coach Tom Kennedy’s Rams have three games, all in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference, on the schedule in the next four days. North Polk (Alleman) visits the Rams at the City Diamond on E. Lincolnway in Jefferson tonight on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. Coverage begins shortly after 7 with game time set for 7:30 p.m.

Greene County is 1-2 overall and in the conference while NP is 2-1 overall and 1-1 in league play. Both teams lost at Gilbert last week- the Comets by a 6-2 score on Wednesday, and the Rams last Friday by a 4-3 score after holding a 3-0 lead. NP was ranked number 9 in the preseason in Class 3A by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union.

Through the first three games, the Rams are averaging 3.33 runs per game and are without an extra base hit. Opponents have scored nine unearned runs in those three contests.

Following tonight’s home game, the Rams travel to Monroe to face PCM on Wednesday, then get back on the bus for a Thursday trip to Roland vs. Roland-Story.
