In less than one week after his initial arrest, a Jefferson man was arrested again and faces additional felony charges.

According to court documents, 35-year-old Justin Cosnotti was arrested Wednesday morning and charged with two Class D Felonies for possession or control of firearms or ammunition while there is a protective order in effect and his third or subsequent offense for possession of a controlled substance and a simple misdemeanor for possession of drug paraphernalia. The charges stem from an executed search warrant at his home in the 200 block of East Russell Street in Jefferson.

The search warrant was issued as a result of when Cosnotti was found in contempt of court proceedings from a separate incident. Cosnotti was arrested Friday, July 3rd following an alleged domestic abuse incident, which he was charged with a Class C Felony for willful injury causing serious injury, a Class D Felony for his third or subsequent offense for domestic abuse assault, aggravated misdemeanors for first degree harassment and child endangerment, and serious misdemeanors for his first offense for two possessions of a controlled substance and false imprisonment.

Upon his release from the Greene County Jail on Monday, a no contact order was put in place for the female victim. As part of the no contact order, Cosnotti was to surrender any firearms to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office within six hours of being released. He admitted to jail staff that he had two firearms in his possession and when he didn’t surrender the firearms, the Sheriff’s Office then executed a search warrant and the contempt charge was filed. During the search, authorities found four firearms, several boxes of ammunition, a needle that field tested positive for methamphetamine, along with some prescription drug bottles.

Cosnotti was booked into jail where he is being held under a $10,000 cash or surety bond. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
