The number of positive COVID-19 tests in Dallas County continues to climb, as Saturday there were 28 new reported cases. Greene County also saw one additional case.

According to the Iowa Department of Public Health, the total number of confirmed cases in Dallas County is now at 1,384 since the outbreak began in March. There were no new coronavirus related deaths in the County reported Saturday, with the total still at 31. There have also been 1,070 patients fully recovered. For Greene County, the new positive test brings the total to 30 to date, with 23 residents recovered and no deaths. Guthrie and Adair counties saw no increases Saturday, with the former at 74 cases, 59 recoveries, and four deaths, and the latter at 17 cases and 12 recovered.

Statewide there were 769 new positive tests, one of the largest single-day jumps during the pandemic, with 34,528 cases now reported. There were also six new deaths for a total of 748 in Iowa. The IDPH notes there have been 332,436 negative tests to date, as well as 26,094 patients recovered. Additionally, in Region 1 of the Regional Medical Coordination Centers Hospital Data – which includes all of the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area – there are currently 54 hospitalized patients, with 13 in Intensive Care Units, and five admitted in the last 24 hours.
