Today is the final day of the 2020 Greene County Normal-ISH Fair.

The highlight of today is the Clover Kids. Participants are in 1st-3rd grade as a way to introduce them to 4-H before they can begin the program in 4th grade. The various livestock shows will start at 1pm in the show ring. Due to COVID-19, the general public is discouraged from attending the shows. However, Greene County Extension 4-H and Youth Coordinator Kayla Willms says they still wanted to celebrate what these 35 youngsters have done with their projects.

“Unfortunately we never got to have a Clover Kids Day to make exhibits or do some STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) activities. Unfortunately that was supposed to happen the week after COVID broke out. But we still wanted to celebrate those kids that signed up (for) Clover Kids in some way, shape or form.”

The livestock shows include the Puppy Pack, Birds and Bunnies, Little Lambs, Goat Kids Club, and Cattle Kids. Raccoon Valley Radio’s Lil’ Big Red Radio will also be broadcasting live from the fair today and tomorrow. As a reminder: results from the fair can be found on the Greene County Fair webpage on the right-hand side of the homepage at raccoonvalleyradio.com.
