Greene County ended the high school baseball and softball seasons on Friday night. The baseball Rams lost 15-1 to number four Dallas Center-Grimes in Dallas Center. The softball Rams fell to number four Humboldt at Humboldt by a 10-0 final. Both contests ended in the fifth inning by the 10-run rule.

Both Greene County teams had more success in the second half of the COVID-19 abbreviated season than the first half. The baseball Rams lost their first seven games to start the season before finishing 3-12. The softball Rams won the opener, then lost seven in a row, but finished with five wins and 11 losses. Greene County won its last regular season game followed by an opening round win on the Class 3A postseason tournament trail in softball.

Friday’s baseball game was the last for seniors for Caden Lowmiller, Brent Riley, and Tyler Teeples. Softball seniors playing for the final time for the Rams were Kyla Byers, Izzy Bravard, and Tieryn Tucker.
