The Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers softball were matched up with a tough semifinal opponent in the Warriors of Norwalk, and unfortunately were unable to come away with the win on Saturday night falling 2-0 in eight innings. The game was a semifinal matchup in Class 4A Region 3 softball, pitting the fourth and sixth ranked teams in the state against each other.

Both teams pitchers were outstanding in the game, with Tigers senior Abbie Hlas putting together a great final start in the loss, giving up two earned runs on five hits and seven strikeouts as well. Hlas was tremendous early on, not giving up a hit until the sixth inning and a base runner until the fifth inning.

Unfortunately, she ran into trouble in the eighth inning. Norwalk only had three hits during the first seven inning, but were able to draw a couple of walks and get key RBI singles from seniors Emily Ellis and Lexie Heim to help the Warriors take the lead that they would never relinquish.

ADM struggled offensively on the night, only getting three hits in the game, and despite getting runners in scoring position in four of the eight innings, couldn’t bring in any runs to potentially get the win.

For the Tigers, they end their season at 12-5 while Norwalk moves to 17-6 and will play Norwalk tomorrow. ADM will say goodbye to six talented seniors on the roster, and will look to reload for next year.
