Area law enforcement responded to a multi-vehicle crash in Dallas County Sunday evening.

Iowa State Patrol Sergeant Alex Dinkla tells Raccoon Valley Radio at 7:41pm State Patrol and the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office responded to the wreck on Highway 44 and Sportsman Club Road Sunday night. Dinkla says a white work truck was westbound on the highway when it crossed the centerline and struck two eastbound vehicles.

Dinkla notes their preliminary indication was that a white work truck was reported stolen from Dallas Center moments before the crash. The two occupants of the truck were flown to Des Moines area hospitals with serious to life-threatening injuries. Three other occupants of the two vehicles were taken to Des Moines area hospitals by ground ambulances with minor to serious injuries. Dinkla adds alcohol may be a contributor to the cause of the crash.

Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
