The Greene County High School softball team overcame a 1-7 start to the COVID-19 abbreviated season to finish at 5-11. Coach Tom Kennedy’s team won its first game, then dropped seven straight before going 4-4 to end the season.

Seniors Kyla Beyers, Izzy Bravard, and Tieryn Tucker, played their final games for the Rams. All three were starters for more than one season, and the coach said he appreciates what they put into the program and he enjoyed coaching them.

Everyone else is eligible to return. Coach Kennedy said, “We started five freshmen most of the year and we had an eighth grader play a lot of games. We really think we’re on the uptick. We’re young on the mound, but they’re all getting better and older, and they’ll continue to work. We have a lot of things we’re positive about, but we need to clean up our errors for next year. Getting better defensively will be the key for us taking that next step, from being below .500 to getting over .500.” He added he hopes its a full season next year.
