In his first season as a head coach of any sport, Matt Paulsen, Greene County’s head baseball coach, faced not having a season at all due to COVID-19, then saw his team lose the first seven games they played in the shortened campaign, before finishing at 3-12. He also had starters that were freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors on the varsity.

The coach comments about the cohesiveness of the Rams. “We had a really good group of kids. I thought overall they worked really, really well together. We had great seniors that took the lead and established what we wanted to do this year and got those younger guys to fall in line and follow their lead just by doing things the right way. Getting the younger guys a lot of varsity experience is really going to help us moving forward.”

Matt’s Dad, Kevin, was his assistant coach.
