The McCreary Center in Perry renovation project is approaching the finish line.

Perry City Administrator Sven Peterson says the project that’s been in the works all year should be completed around mid-August. By the time it’s completed, the facility will feature a 24-hour workout center, a multi-purpose fitness studio, and a child watch area. Peterson says he’s excited to be able to unveil the project to the public, “It’s almost unrecognizable compared to what it was before. It’s just going to be another great opportunity for the community to enjoy a space that we’ve had and has a new fresh face and can really be something we can be proud of.”

One of the few bright spots amid the COVID-19 pandemic is since the center has been closed down, construction crews have been able to work uninterrupted by the public. Because of that, the project is set to be done almost two months ahead of the preliminary timeline.
