The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School Board continues to iron out their Return to Learn plan for the upcoming school year.

During a special meeting Monday, the Board reviewed results of a survey they sent out to families and staff. The survey asked a variety of questions that gauged interest and comfortability with the various options the District has when finalizing their Return to Learn plan. As required by the State, the ADM School District has drafted plans that include 100% on-site learning, a hybrid option that includes 50% of students alternating days between on-site and remote learning, and an option for families with health concerns or are uncomfortable with on-site learning to continue their education remotely.

Superintendent Greg Dufoe tells Raccoon Valley Radio that crafting these plans have taken a lot of effort over the summer, “Truly, in a general statement, it’s really all that we’ve done in terms of work over the past several months. The development of our Return to Learn plan has been the major component of our work. We’ve had lots of input from our subcommittees, district personnel, teachers, nurses, etc. They’ve joined us in our efforts over the course of the summer (and) that work continues.”

Several board members expressed a preference for the 100% on-site plan. No formal action was taken, but Dufoe hopes to have a recommendation for action during their next meeting. The Board will hold another special meeting Monday at 4:30 p.m. in Adel to further discuss the Return to Learn plan.
