Greene County ISU Extension is hosting an online program for those caring for loved ones.

Greene County Extension Director Lori Mannel says “Powerful Tools for Caregivers” is a six-week program where participants will learn how to communicate better with their loved ones, make difficult decisions, create life balance and confidence, and provide resources to take care of yourself. Mannel encourages anyone interested in taking the online course.

“It’s very stressful caring for a loved one. You tend to maybe not take as good of care for yourself and that is not good for your loved one. This is a webinar, so it’s going to be (in) the safety of your own home, and also if you’re a caregiver for an elderly loved one, you may not be able to get out as easily.”

The program will be on Wednesdays from August 5th-September 9th from 1-2:30pm. The cost is $35 per individual or $40 for a couple. Call 515-386-2138 or stop by the Extension office in Jefferson to sign up.
