The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors had a light agenda for their regular meeting Tuesday.

They approved a semiannual report from County Treasurer Marci Schreck. She didn’t flag any concerns, but noted they are awaiting $118,000 in taxes from last year due to the filing deadline extended to July. Supervisor Mike Dickson observed that most of the County’s major funds have seen an increase in revenue, stating that the general basic, general supplemental, and rural services funds have all done better than budgeted. He added that the mental health fund is not going as well but they were not surprised at that. In other business, the Board approved the appointment of Steve Bascom to the Mary J. Barnett Memorial Library Board, as appointed by the Guthrie Center City Council. County Auditor Dani Fink explained that the City’s code of ordinances requires the Supervisors to approve the City’s appointee for the non-residential representative.

Finally, Fink explained to the Board that the quorum of the Jackson Township Trustees, Trudi Tam and Duane Lyons, recently appointed Rick Long as trustee and Cindy Lyons as clerk. Larry and Phyllis Davis resigned from the trustee and clerk positions, respectively, as they are moving out of the area. Due to the election filing deadline Rick and Cindy will still be on the November ballot to run for the terms set to end in 2022. Fink informed the Board that since a quorum appointed one trustee and one clerk, and since the clerk has no voting power, the Supervisors do not have to approve this change.
