After more than three years of work, the new Dallas County Law Enforcement Center is almost  complete.

Over the last two weeks Sheriff Chad Leonard has been officing out of the new facility to oversee the final punch list before everyone else moves in. Starting Monday the administration, patrol, and civil divisions will be making the transitions to the new building near Adel. The jail is still being worked on and still has some hoops to jump through before inmates can be moved. The project has had some delays as weather has continuously interfered with construction throughout the process, as well as the COVID-19 pandemic.

Unfortunately, due to concerns over COVID-19 there isn’t an opportunity to host a public grand opening. The $23 million project has been near the top of the County’s priority list since the bond was approved in the spring of 2017.
