Gilbert’s final contest as a Heart of Iowa Activities Conference member resulted in a Championship game loss in the Class 3A State Baseball Tournament. Norwalk won the title over Gilbert, 8-6, on Saturday at Principal Park in Des Moines. Greene County lost 11-1 and 9-2 to Gilbert during the Heart of Iowa Conference season. Gilbert, along with North Polk (Alleman), are both moving to the Raccoon River Activities Conference, making 10 teams in that league.

West Marshall (State Center) is leaving the North Iowa Cedar League to rejoin the Heart of Iowa, a conference the Trojans were in when Greene County joined the HOIAC 13 years ago. The HOIAC will have seven members for the 2020-21 school year. Greene County and WM are joined by Nevada, PCM (Monroe), Roland-Story (Story City), South Hamilton (Jewell), and Saydel (Des Moines).
