Area residents can cool off for a final time at the Guthrie Center Aquatic Center this weekend, including their canine friends.

The Aquatic Center is closing for the summer with a “pool pooch party” from 6:30-8:30 p.m. with a $2 entry fee for each person and free for dogs. All dogs must remain on a leash and must be up to date on their shots with documentation to prove. The pool staff will continue to enforce their COVID-19 screening as part of the check-in process for the event. If someone fails the forehead scanned temperature check with 100.4 degrees fahrenheit or higher the staff will ask that person to rest in a shaded area out of direct sunlight for 10 minutes before having their temperature retaken. If the person then passes the second temperature check and passes the check-in questions they will be allowed to enter the facility. Patrons are also allowed to bring their own chairs.
