A boil advisory and water conservation notice has been issued for the City of Yale Tuesday.

The advisory was issued due to a power outage in the City from Monday’s severe thunderstorm. According to Adair and Guthrie County Emergency Management Agency Coordinator Bob Kempf the advisory was issued as there was no power or generation capability to operate the wells and the water treatment plant. The tower and the entire system has been completely drained of water and repressurized. Now that power has been restored and once the system is repressurized and chlorine residuals are restored, the City will be required to collect two sets of four bacteria samples throughout the distribution system. The City is asking residents to refrain from using any City water at this time, and bottle water provisions are in progress. For more information visit here.
