Due to damage caused by Monday’s severe weather, residential garbage collection in the City of Perry has been suspended.

Residents may bring their garbage and recycling to the dumpsters at the McCreary Center or football field parking lot. Recyclables may still be taken to the dumpster at the Perry Police Station. Crews are attempting to continue service to commercial buildings. If you have a garbage bin that does not belong to you, or was blown to your yard during the storm, call the City and using the serial number on the container, it will be returned to it’s owner.

Any other debris from the storm can be dragged to the curb for pickup. Tree limbs do not have to be cut down, just stacked and left on the curb. Residents can also bring storm debris to the campground parking lot at Pattee Park free of charge. This will help crews quickly clear the streets for those who are unable to haul their debris.

Dallas County Hospital and Clinics is back up and running. The Perry Clinic was temporarily closed due to loss of power, but as of Tuesday afternoon is back open for acute illness’ only. Appointments are required and can be made by calling 515-465-3553.
