West Central Valley football played their home opener on Friday night in football, and unfortunately was able to come away with the victory over the Nodaway Valley Wolverines losing by the score of 48-0.

The Wildcats struggled to find footing all night long, as Nodaway Valley’s defense was able to shut down both the rushing and passing attack of the Wildcats. WCVs defense hung in their early during the game, but got worn down throughout the night against the Nodaway Valley offensive attack.

The Wildcats only trailed by 16 at halftime, but the third quarter would turn to be a huge difference maker, as the Wolverines were able to tack on twelve more points during the quarter and would not look back for their victory.

This was the first game for head coach Jim Lindsay, as his team competed hard throughout the night, but unfortunately came up a little bit short. That said, the Wildcats young team was able to get some experience, and hopefully take away some lessons from the game.

West Central Valley will get back on the practice field this week as they look to continue to improve on a day by day basis.
