We have new information regarding a fatal motorcycle crash from Saturday in Dallas County.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, a 2012 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling north on 360th Street, east of Earhlam, just after 5 p.m. Saturday. Dallas County Sheriff Chad Leonard tells Raccoon Valley Radio a deputy attempted to pull over the motorcycle for speeding, but the deputy couldn’t catch up to the motorcycle in time. Leonard adds the pursuing deputy reached speeds of 120 miles per hour before calling off the pursuit.

After the deputy attempted to pull over the motorcycle, the driver failed to negotiate a curve on the roadway as it crossed the intersection with 360th Place and the vehicle came to a rest in the ditch. The driver, 36-year-old Thomas Kennedy of Waukee, and his passenger, 36-year-old Rachel Glissman also of Waukee, had died from the crash. The crash report noted that neither individual wore a helmet. The Iowa State Patrol is in charge of the investigation. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
