A Jefferson teen was cited following a rear-ending traffic crash Monday.

According to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy and Greene County Ambulance responded to J Avenue and 220th Street at 1:32pm. Sixteen-year-old Kayleigh Fowler was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Impala and heading east on 220th Street. She struck the rear-end of a 1994 Wilderness Camper pulled by a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado truck, and driven by Glen Garnett. The truck was stopped and waiting to turn onto J Avenue.

Sheriff Jack Williams tells Raccoon Valley Radio both drivers were uninjured and a passenger in Fowler’s vehicle suffered minor injuries and was taken to Greene County Medical Center. Williams says the Impala was considered a total loss and the camper sustained $10,000 in damages. Fowler was cited for use of an electronic device.
