Tonight is Week 3 in the Iowa High School Football Season, and tonight will feature two Dallas County schools facing off on the gridiron against each other.  #1 ranked, Dallas Center-Grimes will face a rebuilding Perry Bluejay squad.

DC-G is coming off of a 38-14 win on the road at North Polk last Friday, while Perry is coming off of a 44-0 loss at Saydel in Des Moines a week ago.  The loss to Saydel gave the Eagles their first win in the football program since 2017.

The Mustangs will be a very heavy favorite tonight on their home turf, and will likely be an opportunity for DC-G to showcase its second and third string guys in Varsity action.  Injuries happen in every sport, especially football, and building a bench for Scott Heitland’s club will be key for the longevity of the program and help the team attain its goal of reaching the UNIDome in November.

DC-G Senior RB, Zach Brand has been huge in his first two games of the season.  Last week, Brand had 5 rushing touchdowns.  Senior QB, Ty Walker also looks far more mature and skilled, as the Mustang offense has been very potent against good competition in the first two weeks of play.

Tonight’s game is set for a 7:00pm kickoff in Grimes between DC-G and Perry, and the game can be heard with play-by-play action with Shawn Kenney on 99.7FM or AM1310 KDLS.
