Bars in Dallas County may reopen this evening, per a new public health proclamation signed by Governor Kim Reynolds Tuesday.

The proclamation permits bars, breweries, taverns, and nightclubs in four of the six counties that were previously restricted in a proclamation signed August 27th to reopen at 5 p.m., and that restaurants can resume serving alcohol past 10 p.m. These businesses in Johnson and Story counties must remain closed until September 20th. The proclamation also strongly encourages Iowans two years old and up to wear a face mask in a public setting when it’s not possible to stay six feet away from those not in their household.
