Wednesday, September 16th

4:20am: Carroll County requested assistance from Jefferson officers and the Greene County Sheriff’s Office with a High-Speed Chase that began in Carroll. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and the Carroll PD were chasing a vehicle on 220th Street and had entered into the western edge of Greene County. The vehicle was reported to be reaching speeds of 120 mph. Two Jefferson officers set up at 220th and M Avenue as the vehicle continued to evade Carroll law enforcement and continued eastbound on 220th Street. The Jefferson officers prepared to

deploy Stop Sticks at their location. As the vehicle passed their location, an officer deployed the Stop Sticks successfully. Three tires on the fleeing vehicle were deflated by the Stop Sticks. The vehicle continued eastbound as the tires deflated and eventually began to shred. The vehicle came to a stop on 220th, near Flack Ave. The female driver was taken into custody at this point. Carroll officers charged the female with, “OWI and Evading.”

6:27am: Sheriff Jack Williams reported an Open Storage Building in the 600 Block of North Maple Street. An electrical contractor is using the area to stage vehicles, equipment, and supplies for a local project. The storage building did not appear to have been broken into and an employee had possibly forgot to secure it the prior evening. Nothing was reported as missing at this time. 

11:26am: Ed Calvert captured a Stray Cat in the 900 Block of West Lincoln Way Street. The officer placed the cat in the Animal Holding Facility.

1:18pm: Kay Taylor reported receiving the IRS Phone Scam Call. She provided no information and did not incur a loss.

1:33pm: An officer was requested by a deputy to assist with Traffic Control on 220th Street, near M Ave. after a semi had become disabled on the roadway.

7:07pm: Debra Steadman requested an officer at 409 South Chestnut Street for an argument occurring with family members. The officer worked to diffuse the issue and the parties separated.

8:27pm: James Lorenzen reported a Suspicious Vehicle near the county dirt piles in the 6oo Block of North Grimmell Road. The vehicle was not located by the officer.

8:50pm: A deputy advised an officer of a large brush fire at 911 North Maple Street. The officer located the yard waste fire, which was being attended by the resident. No violations of city ordinances had been violated.

10:44pm: A caller advised of an Unlicensed Driver operating a vehicle at 777 Wild Rose Lane. The officer did not locate the vehicle.

10:53pm: Darren Jackson reported teens still out throwing toilet paper at the late hour. The officer was unable to immediately respond. He did not locate anyone in the area when able to arrive there.
