The Perry Elks Lodge recently donated to a local charity.

Perry Elks Lodge 407 presented a $5,500 check to the Perry Ministerial Association’s Good Samaritan Fund. First Christian Church Pastor Andrea Brownlee says the fund’s dollars go right back into the community, “Our hope is to be able to help, not just with rent and utilities, but if someone has an unexpected car expense or medical bill, and they are still able to handle all their other financial needs, then we can help with those other unexpected things.”

Those in need of assistance can reach out to the New Opportunities Family Development Center who will put them in contact with the Good Samaritan Fund organizers. Since 1898 the Perry Elks Lodge has donated nearly $4 million to local organizations.
