Despite a change in festivities, Perry High School will be celebrating Homecoming.

Themed days start with Moana Monday, then Texas Tuesday, Winter Wednesday, Theatrical Thursday, and Class Color Day Friday, where freshmen wear red, sophomores wear white, juniors wear black, seniors wear blue, and the staff wears gray.

Instead of a dance, the school will hold a carnival event for students Saturday at Jim Kaufman Track starting at 7 p.m. Students will be put in small groups so that social distancing can be more easily enforced, and the school can keep track of who is in close contact with whom. Face coverings will be strongly encouraged. The Homecoming Court was announced Friday. The king candidates are Jayson Chavez, Miguel Sierra, Riese Archer, Abner Rivera, and Zach Darr. The queen candidates are Claire Southward, Shelby De La Cruz, Ainsley Marburger, Cindy Troung, and Aubree Tasler. Coronation will take place Friday evening before the varsity football game.
