A Greene County fugitive has been located and apprehended.

Jefferson Police Chief Mark Clouse tells Raccoon Valley Radio 35-year-old Justin Michael Cosnotti was located in Polk County around 8:50am Friday. According to court documents, authorities have been searching for Cosnotti since an arrest warrant was issued on September 16th. Cosnotti has four active warrants. 

According to a police report, at 2:30pm Wednesday afternoon, the Jefferson Police Department, Greene County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa State Patrol surrounded Cosnotti’s residence in the 700 block of West Sunset after receiving information that he was there. When authorities didn’t locate the suspect, they were later advised that Cosnotti was in the yard waste dump site at Daubendiek Park. Authorities searched for Cosnotti and used a drone for the heavily wooded areas but couldn’t find him. 

Cosnotti is currently in the Polk County Jail waiting to be transported to the Greene County Jail. Chief Clouse appreciates the public’s help in locating the suspect. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
