The Perry football team has struggled offensively through the first four weeks of the season and a big reason has been a lack of production on first down.  The Bluejays will try to find the endzone for the first time this season tonight when they host 3-1 Winterset at Dewey Field.  Perry has struggled frequently with the quarterback-center exchange out of the shotgun formation.  Perry coach Bryce Pierce says this has certainly been a point of emphasis this week.

“I think there are a couple of things at work here.  We moved the quarterback up a little bit a couple weeks ago and the ball is getting to the quarterback really hot which has caused some problems.  We have worked on that this week and so far so good so hopefully that problem is corrected.  The other part is our center Dalton Scott is new to the position.  He started the year at tackle but we thought he best fit on the line at center so he has quite a bit of inexperience playing that position.”

Perry will host Winterset at 7:15 tonight.
