The Adel Partners Chamber of Commerce and Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Alumni Association unveiled a new tiger statue to the public Friday morning.

Several community members attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony to welcome the newest monument displaying Tiger pride. The event was also live-streamed on the Adel Partners Chamber of Commerce Facebook page. The statue has been in the works for the last two years as the ADM Alumni Association gathered the funds and organized the creation of the figure, and the structure as a whole features concrete steps and a plaque with some background on the project. ADM Alumni Association Board Member Dana Brown tells Raccoon Valley Radio she’s been working with Chicago Fiberglass for six months on the project.

Brown says the distance has made this a challenge process, but worth it in the end, “We were really adamant, we wanted it to reflect our ADM brand and be a one of a kind piece. Over that time, him being in Chicago and me being here was a little difficult, but we did communicate, nailing out the details in the colors and the size. That was kind of a cool, eye-opening process for me to be a part of too. We stayed on our timeline, and we got the tiger here in August, and now that it’s here, in its place, it feels really good to have that done.”

The $16,000 statue currently rests at its new home outside ADM Middle School.
