Tuesday night was a volleyball match for the ages in Grimes, as the red hot Dallas Center-Grimes Fillies held off a bigtime effort from the Pella Little Dutch.  DC-G is sitting at the top of the Little Hawkeye Conference standings, with Pella just behind DC-G in second place.  The Little Dutch put forth a big effort, as it was obvious they were craving a share of the conference title with the Fillies.  Despite the barn burning, nail biting competitiveness, DC-G prevailed in a fifth and decisive set.

The first set of the night went to DC-G, but barely, 26-24.  Pella responded strong winning sets 2 and 3, 25-19, respectively.  The Fillies had their backs against the wall and came through in a big way.  DC-G won the fourth set 25-14, and the final set to determine the match, 15-10.

Cheryl Voelker’s club has now won six straight matches, and will look forward to their next opponent when Norwalk comes to Grimes on Tuesday, October 6.  Following the win against Pella, DC-G is now 7-3 on the year.
