The Greene County School District has reported its first positive COVID-19 case at the high school.

According to the District, one staff member has tested positive for the virus. The high school has moved to the yellow level of the District’s mask requirements. This means masks are to be worn if social distancing is not manageable. The District has worked with Greene County Public Health to do contact tracing and those who were considered to be in close contact with that individual have been contacted and will need to be quarantined.

According to the District’s COVID-19 website, the elementary and middle schools continue to be in the red level, which means masks must be worn at all times until further notice. The middle school currently has two students that have tested positive and the elementary still has one student and three staff members that are positive.

The District is asking everyone to take the necessary precautions to prevent further spreading the virus.
