Several fire departments responded to a business and residential fire that occurred near Grand Junction Saturday night.

According to Grand Junction Assistant Fire Chief Bret Kersey, agencies were called at about 8:53 p.m. to respond to a business and home owned by Doug Moranville on 18th Street near Highway 30. Both buildings were considered total losses and no one was hurt in the incident. Kersey adds no one was inside either building at the time of the fire. One cause of concern was a propane tank located on the north side of the property, which the emergency agencies removed from the scene.

The Grand Junction, Paton, Churdan, Jefferson, Rippey, Scranton, Ogden, and Perry fire departments, Greene County Sheriff’s Office, Greene County EMS, and Grand Junction Rescue all assisted at the scene. Kersey thanks all of the departments who responded and their cooperation in putting out the blaze. Cause of the fire hasn’t been determined. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
