Greene County sends its girls and boys cross-country teams to the golf course in Lake City today for the South Central Calhoun Invitational. Coach Jeff Lamoureux’s boys have been very competitive this season with one meet victory to their credit and other creditable finishes. The girls have struggled with numbers and run recent meets with the minimum five girls to qualify for a team score.

Logan Woodruff has been the top runner for the Greene County boys. He’s consistently been a top 12 runner this season. Luis Velazco had been right with Woodruff until the last two meets when he’s run with an issue with his back, and hasn’t been among the top five scorers on the team.

The Rams will have a short turnaround with a meet on Thursday at Saydel High School in Des Moines.
