Tuesday, October 6th

5:27am: A female caller advised she had just been released from the hospital and started to walk home, but can not walk any further. The officer located the female on North Grimmell Road. Her husband had arrived to pick her up.

8:01am: An officer assisted a motorist with mechanical issues at Elm and 220th Street. The vehicle was removed by a tow service.

10:21am: An officer had a vehicle towed from the City Parking Lot near Harrison and Wilson. The vehicle had no plates and had sat in the lot for several days.

5:47pm:, Crystal Beyers reported a possible Intoxicated Female walking on North Cedar Street. The officer did not locate the reported subject.

5:55pm: Kaitlin Lowmiller reported the Theft of Prescription Medications from her vehicle. The officer learned the theft had occurred in Ames and sent Lowmiller to Ames PD to file the report.

6:22pm: Merissa Olson reported a group of youngsters cursing at her and her young child as they played at the Catholic Playground in the 500 Block of North Olive Street. The officer spoke to the youngsters and their parents about the issue.

6:41pm: Jerry Mills reported Suspicious Activity in the 500 Block of West State Street. The officer did not locate anyone suspicious in the area.

8:48pm: James Lorenzen reported a Suspicious Male came to his residence asking about a male subject who lived next door to him at 507 North Grimmell Road. The officer did not locate the reporter subject in the area.

10:11pm:, An officer performed a Traffic Stop at Cedar and States Streets, after the vehicle made a wide turn at the intersection. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of John Douglas Reed, 37 of Jefferson for, “OWI 2nd Offense – Aggravated.”

******** The officer has finished an Investigation that began on 10/02/2020 with a Vehicle Pursuit. The vehicle fled from the officer attempting to perform a Traffic Stop on it. The officer has sent charges to Juvenile Court for a 16-year old male juvenile for, “Possession of Controlled Substance/marijuana 1st Offense – Serious and Eluding with Drugs – D Felony.” A 17- year old female juvenile was also charged with Possession of Controlled Substance/marijuana 1st Offense – Serious.”
