It’s 4-2 Greene County at 3-3 Shenandoah in Class 2A District 9 football tonight on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. The teams have been trending in opposite directions with the Rams winning their last three games and the Mustangs having lost their last two by a combined 73-10 score to Atlantic and Clarinda. The Rams lost a close game at home to the Trojans in week three and won at home last Friday 22-15 in overtime vs. Clarinda.

Greene County head coach Caden Duncan was asked was stood out on film about the Mustangs. “They have some good skill players. The quarterback can wing the ball around pretty good. They have an athletic, pretty strong, running back, and a big tight end, who is also kind of an outside linebacker, and he’s a good athlete, so they’ve got some athletes. Hopefully, we can set the tone up front a little bit. They’ve struggled some up front on offense and with stopping the run, so we hope to set the tone there.”

Coverage starts at 6 o’clock with kickoff tonight at 7.

All teams qualify for the first round of the playoffs on Oct. 16. Playoff assignments are set to be released at noon tomorrow on the Iowa High School Athletic Association website.
