Football is a team game, but now and then individual performances are so outstanding they deserve recognition above the norm. That was the case Friday night for Greene County quarterback Bryce Stalder in Shenandoah as the Rams were 42-6 winners over the Mustangs. The junior threw for three touchdowns and 215 yards unofficially on nine of 14 passing with no interceptions, and he ran the ball nine times for 200 more yards and three additional TDs. Stalder and the Ram offense rolled up 486 total yards vs. the Mustangs, easily a season high. Senior receiver Jaxon Warnke had 161 receiving yards on five catches. The game was heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.

Stalder’s TD passes to Warnke went for 50 and 46 yards, and he had a three yard TD toss to senior Zach Goff. The rushing TDs for the Greene County QB went for 71, 26, and 80 yards. The Rams led 8-0 after one quarter and 21-0 at intermission. Shenandoah scored on the first possession of the second half, but junior middle linebacker Bradyn Smith blocked the extra point kick and the Rams led 21-6. Greene County scored the final 21 points of the contest and the game ended with the 35-point rule continuous clock in effect.

Max Riley, Goff, and defensive lineman Sawyer Schiltz intercepted passes for the Rams, who did not turn the ball over. Junior Nathan Black ran for two conversion points following the first TD, and freshman kicker Nathan Behne was four for four on extra points.

The win was the fourth straight for the Rams, who finish the COVID-19 abbreviated regular season with a 5-2 record, while the Mustangs have lost three in a row and are 3-4. The Rams are also 3-0 on the road this season.
