It’s been years since Greene County has had postseason football and volleyball at home in the same season, but that’s the case this year. Coach Caden Duncan’s football Rams host Red Oak tonight at Linduska Field in Jefferson. It’s a rematch from the Class 2A District 9 regular season when the Rams won 55-14 on the road. Greene County is 5-2 on the season and riding a four game winning streak while the Tigers are 0-7 this season and they bring a 19 game losing streak dating back to 2018 into the contest. Game time is 7 p.m. with coverage at 6 p.m. on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.

Coach Chris Heisterkamp’s volleyball Rams begin Class 3A Region 2 tournament play on Monday, Oct. 19 in the new Greene County High School gym in Jefferson vs. Southeast Valley (Gowrie), a team the Rams lost to on Oct. 1 in the inaugural night in the new facility. The Rams defeated South Hamilton (Jewell) and Saydel (Des Moines) earlier this week to end the regular season on a positive note and they’ll take a 7-15 match record into Monday night vs. the Jaguars.
